The Latest Greatest in Gaming

If you are looking for the latest greatest in gaming, you won’t find it here. Wyrd & Wundor is all about cozy relaxation. With that being said, there is something very nerve wracking about only playing the LG’s games and people having the pressure to purchase them. Let’s face it - most of us are on a tight budget and gaming isn’t cheap.

The good thing about buying older or indie games, is that you can find them on sale or purchase Steam Keys (and at times codes for other gaming systems) at a discounted price. Another good thing about that is the devs who worked so hard on the games are still getting recognition. Their games should not be buried under the rubble of the new and shiny. Not saying big name cozy games are all bad. I play quite a few! It’s just…

Here’s a great example. A new one is dropping tomorrow and the pricetag is $70 USD!!! TBH a lot of us are on the fence about this game as not a lot has been released. That is a lot of money to drop on a game, especially one we might not end up liking. Been there, done that, and hung my head in shame.

Gaming culture has created a lot of hype and pressure on this sort of thing and while I can’t promise I will never be hyped for a new game (Moonlight Peaks), I will be as ethical as possible. If I endorse a new game there will be full transparency about how much I have played, and if a demo was played before release. It’s just not possible to play each and every new game, especially cozy games that are upwards of 50 hours. Sadly, there is a bit of misleading information in the gaming community. Ai written text has made it seem like a lot of gamers have completed games when they have barely scratched the surface.
